(re)constitution

(re)constitution is an experiment that uses photocollage to engage the queer figure through queer time. The overlay and interplay of images of the male nude combine ancient sculpture and restored castrated casts with recent figural queer photography.

To reconstitute can mean both to change something and to restore to a natural state. In collaging these figures together, the images fold time and space into a non-linear queer time in which bodies are free to express and to change: to embody queerness as a natural state of transformation.
